Threes is an indie puzzle game developed by Sirvo, an independent development team consisting of game designer Asher Vollmer, illustrator Greg Wohlwend, and composer Jimmy Hinson. I played their game on the Ipad for a while, but wanted to make one for myself in my browser. I succeeded in creating my own version of threes, and while it is not exactly like the Ipad version, it is pretty close. Any credit for the game concept goes to Sirvo, whereas this version was completely coded by me.
Threes is pretty simple: You use the arrow keys to move the blocks. They will combine into larger numbers, for example: 1+2=3, 3+3=6, 6+6=12; etc. They will combine when they push together at a wall. You can't move if another three block can't move (if the screen remains stationary after a move, excepting a new block added). For scoring, ones and twos are discounted, and each number higher gives its multiple to the power of three; i.e. 3 -> 31 = 3pts, 6 -> 32 = 9pts, 12 becomes 27pts, 24 becomes 81pts, etc. Higher numbers are good!
