Sugar is a game partially inspired by grade 10 chemistry, partly inspired by playing cookie clicker during grade 10 chemistry. It embraces the simple click-never-ending-gaining-more-stuff type of game, while also having a large amount of chemistry information inside.
Like cookie clicker, the game is engineered so that it doesn't become more efficient for you. All you do by buying more machines is increase your total money, and your level. The cookie clicker analogy would be: It takes you x amount of time, with y number of [machine] to achieve enough cookies to get y+1 [machine]s. The relationship between x and y is one where x initially decreases, up until the point y=7.1550363... at which x increases at an exponential rate
